Job Description

What you get to do in this role:

  • Build high-quality, clean, scalable and reusable code by enforcing best practices around software engineering architecture and processes (Code Reviews, Unit testing, etc.)
  • Work with the product owners to understand detailed requirements and own your code from design, implementation, test automation and delivery of high-quality product to our users.
  • Design software that is simple to use, with great consumer grid experience.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of new products and features while also enhancing the existing product suite
  • Train and mentor engineers and supporting team members, help promote knowledge-sharing
  • Be technically hands on and guide the team creating solution from both the front end and the back end.
  • Lead the day-to-day agile activities in Digital Customer Experience engineering team.
  • Collaborate closely with other development teams across Business Unit to help with continuous improvement of the architecture, tools and processes.
  • Facilitate requirements gathering and process mapping workshop. Document functional business requirements, process flow diagrams, and business cases.
  • Responsible for understanding business and technical problems addressed by the products including key regulations, business drivers, evolving business needs, security etc.
  • Build proofs-of-concept (POC) for potential new solutions and technologies

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you have:

  • Minimum 10+ years of software development experience in enterprise software environment with Java or a similar OO language
  • Minimum 3 years of ServiceNow application development experience is a must.
  • MS/BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with any of the modern UI frameworks like Angular, React or Vue
  • Understanding of application development on a SaaS cloud platform.
  • Experience with data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, design patterns, and performance/scale considerations.
  • Ability to gather and evaluate user requirements and prepare technical requirement documents.
  • Desire to interact with multiple software development teams to develop, unit test, deploy and improve on product performance, quality, security, and stability.
  • Experience with the agile methodology for software development teams.
  • Deep knowledge of service oriented and distributed application architecture in the enterprise (web services, data access and persistence, client/server, etc)
  • Proven ability to balance multiple priorities and communicate across organizational boundaries.
  • Analytical and design skills.
  • Good to have experience
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and consult (providing options with pros, cons and risks) around all key technical decisions during project delivery
  • Solid presentation skills
  • CI/CD experience

A flexible work persona is defined as an employee who is contracted to work from or aligned to a ServiceNow-affiliated office and will work from their assigned workplace location roughly 3 days/week or less (generally around 40-60% of the work week). Flexible employees may choose to work the remaining working time from their workplace location or home. Flexible employees are required to work within their state, province, region, or country of employment.

Remote

A remote work persona is defined as an employee who performs their responsibilities exclusively outside of a ServiceNow workplace and is not contracted or aligned to a ServiceNow-affiliated office, including those whose place of work (pursuant to their terms and conditions of employment) is their home. Remote employees are required to work within their state, province, region, or country of employment.
