A major US based bank is currently hiring a Principal Architect within their Digital Technologies team. Duties and Responsibilities

As Digital Technologies (DT) Architecture Lead, you will manage DT’s Solution Architecture team and driving DT’s Platform Architecture practice. You’ll guide other architects in adopting leading scalable, extendible, resilient, and secure design patterns and build out common solution services to improve component development and reuse. Additionally, you’ll partner closely with platform and enterprise architects to continue modernization of the digital platform with Cloud adoption, containerization, microservices, and modern DevSecOps practices. The goal for the DT Architecture Lead is to help provide developers with clear instructions, make development more efficient, and simplify the production support process.

Reporting to the Head of Digital Technologies and working closely with both the broader Information Services teams and Product teams, you’ll be a senior member of the Digital Technologies team. This is a leadership role and will inspire a lean, high-performing team, modernize and advance new & existing digital platforms, while maintaining great company culture. You have strong leadership and mentorship skills in fast-paced environments, including a strong track record of driving architecture practices across a high-performing organization.

Experience with digital platforms and related technologies is essential as this role will be responsible for setting the bar on how Digital Technologies builds modern solutions. You are a self-starter and will need to quickly understand the various components of the current architecture, identify areas for improvement, and execute a roadmap of both tactical and strategic improvements for current and future applications. Candidates for this role should have experience working within banking or other financial services and display an understanding and appreciation for the complexities therein.

What you’ll do as the DT Architecture Lead:

  • · Lead, mentor, and grow the DT Solution Architecture Team by ensuring the team has the right coverage across incoming feature requirements and feature scrum teams
  • · Drive the architecture of DT’s Digital 2.0 Platform and ensure the adoption of its target architecture
  • · Lead the adoption and contribution of solution design patterns, reusable components, and easily accessible code and artifact repositories for developers
  • · Establish consistent and comprehensive diagraming and documentation standards that meet the needs of developers, production support operators, and architecture governance
  • o Maintain the repository of architecture artifacts
  • o Ensure solutions have well-defined and managed SLAs
  • o Ensure a partnership with Project Managers to help them clearly understand component and work breakdown of solutions and support them on sizing and resolving roadblocks through the Agile development and release processes
  • · Partner and collaborate with Product Owners, Technical Product Managers, Architects, and Production Managers to understand their key needs and ensure solution designs meet both functional and non-functional needs


You’ll be a great fit if you have:

  • · Bachelor’s degree (Masters preferred) in Software Engineering or related fields
  • · 15+ years in engineering and architecture, with a focus on digital solutions, building customized experiences leveraging components and microservices, and leveraging AWS for scaling low-latency applications
  • · 10+ years leading and managing software engineering teams
  • · Previously hands-on with Java Spring, NodeJS, Angular, and React frameworks along with iOS and Android development
  • · Senior management related leaderships skills & the ability to influence results without having direct oversight of all parties involved
  • · Experience executing enterprise-level projects
  • · Effective communication skills to partner with senior leaders across the organization
  • · Proven leadership, relationship management, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills
  • · Ability to think strategically and create new and better ways for the organization to be successful
  • · Makes good and timely decisions that keeps the organization moving forward; combines analysis, wisdom, experience, and judgment in decision quality

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $250,000.00 - $300,000.00 per year
