The Experience Design (XD) Team is responsible for the digital and physical design of new businesses, new products, and new services in emerging areas such as autonomous vehicles, mobility services, and commercial vehicle services. We are looking for creative individuals to join us and help further the vision and mission of D-Ford’s XD team. We are committed to envisioning and crafting simple, thoughtful, enjoyable, and compelling products and services for customers!

Our New Mobility Platforms teams take an integrated approach to building products, with researchers, designers, business strategists, engineers, and operations experts working collaboratively. This team’s work spans hardware and software, front-end interfaces and back-end services – the entire end-to-end technology stack needed to launch a new business from the ground up. From imagining innovative new vehicle concepts to envisioning intelligent digital experiences, we work to inspire the product vision and then make it a reality!

What you’ll be able to do:

Our Senior Product Managers must be highly motivated, self-driven, hands-on leaders that can work seamlessly across multiple disciplines and be the link between our cross-functional teams that execute on the vision we’ve created. Together, we are defining, building, and launching the next generation of technology-enabled products and services that will shape the future of Ford’s business.

• Work alongside Ford leadership and your team to define the product portfolio strategy that will allow your business domain to win against the competition in market now and in the future
• Maintain a deeply user-centered focus throughout the process from early stages of research and design to making continuous product improvements based on customer feedback
• Collaborate with cross-functional team across Design, Engineering, Business, and Operations teams to ensure the desirability, feasibility, and viability of our product strategy
• Guide prioritization, planning, and execution of workstreams and ensure alignment across functions
• Make data-driven decisions through rapid iteration, experiments in market, and learning through feedback from real customers
• Communicate highly complex concepts and plans to a diverse set of internal and external stakeholders, and evangelize the product strategy to executive leadership
• Build strong relationships across a variety of functions to establish trust, make decisions, and drive action
• Mentor and support the growth of a team of product managers

The minimum requirements we seek:

• Bachelor's degree or a combination of education and equivalent experience.
• 6+ years of experience in product management, especially working closely with software engineering teams
• 2+ years of people management experience, especially with distributed teams

Our preferred requirements:

• Master's degree in a technical or engineering field or MBA or equivalent practical experience
• Experience with Agile, Lean, and Design Thinking principles in the product development process
• Experience building service-based product ecosystems e.g. Consumer Electronics, Internet of Things (IoT), Mobile Applications, Transportation as a Service, or Autonomous Vehicles
• Comfort navigating ambiguity, establishing goals and crafting a plan in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
• Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills; able to use data to translate ambiguous problems into elegant solutions
• Experience partnering with cross-functional teams to build complex products
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to engage effectively at all levels from executive leadership to customers, across geographies and cultures
