Description
Samsung SmartThings is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in the Bay Area. This individual is welcome to work remotely as long as they are able to travel to the office as needed.
We are looking for a talented Senior Software Engineer to help build and scale the SmartThings cloud platform. You'll be working on a platform that processes billions of requests and events, have full end-to-end ownership of code and infrastructure and work with the latest technology at scale in a fun team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Comfortable working in all phases of the software development lifecycle from planning to deployment and support
- Project ownership, working with managers to scope and define assignments, and other project criteria
- Drive key strategic outcomes like reliability, quality and testability
- Proactively identify areas for improvements
- Collaborate with other developers, internal and external partners
- Willingness to work across various time zones and geographies
- Mentoring other team members
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
- Experience in Software Engineering with demonstrable experience utilizing the latest practices and techniques (4+ years of experience preferred)
- Excellent communication and people skills. Comfortable presenting to both internal and external executive audiences at a global scale
- Ability to operate in fast-paced, deadline driven, collaborative and iterative programming environment
- A passion for continuous learning and understanding
- Experience with AWS Lambda, Google Cloud Functions, or Azure Functions
- Experience with Terraform
- Experience in designing and developing microservices and REST APIs
- Working knowledge of source control (preferably git and GitHub/GitLab)
Compensation for this role for a candidate based in Colorado is expected to be between $108,000.00 and $156,600.00 and for a candidate in NYC is expected to be between $126,653.00 and $183,648.00, but may be higher or lower in other States due to geographic differentials in the labor market.
